Funerals

The process to have a funeral at New Hope Lutheran Church in Grantsburg Wi is as follows:

  1. Contact Pastor Emory Johnson at 715-497-9238 to see if the date you are considering is available. Pastor will research and get back to you with what is available.  This must be done whether you are having Pastor Johnson speak at the service or not.
  2. Contact the Funeral Coordinator (Darlene Johnson) at 715-566-0776 to see if the fellowship hall is available for the date you are considering. This must be done whether you are having the event catered or having the church volunteers provide the food following the service.
  3. The food that the church volunteers will provide is as follows:
    1. Sandwiches
    2. Salads
    3. Bars
    4. Help for set up/clean up.
    5. Should you want additional or different food it is your responsibility to provide and pay for. You can make it yourself or you can hire a caterer to do so.  If you decide to go this route it must be communicated and coordinated with the funeral coordinator.
  4. The décor within the fellowship hall will remain as it is for Sunday fellowship.
  5. There is no smoking on the church property.

Special Events

The process for scheduling a special event within the fellowship hall at New Hope Lutheran Church, Grantsburg, WI is as follows:

  1. Contact the Volunteer Kitchen Coordinator (Darlene Johnson) at 715-566-0776 to see if the fellowship hall is available for the date you are considering. The coordinator has final say about availability for all special events.
  2. It is your responsibility to provide the food and beverages or to coordinate and pay for a caterer.
  3. It is your responsibility to set up for your event and cleanup from your event and to ensure you have enough help to get it completed. The kitchen coordinator will be on-site to help answer questions.
  4. The décor i.e., the tablecloths will remain the colors that are currently on for Sunday fellowship. No one can remove these or request to have these removed.  The lanterns, creamers, cups, napkins and sugars can be removed if you communicate this in advance with the kitchen coordinator.
  5. No one is allowed in the sanctuary during your event. All food/beverages should remain in the fellowship hall.
  6. All non-member special events must be approved by the church council prior to the event.
  7. There is no smoking on the church property.
